Andy: This rum has a nice dark color. The smell is a little harsh. Trying it on the rocks I notice it has quite the bite up front. It has a really good flavor but too much of a bite for me to drink straight up. This rum works really well mixed with the Pepsi One. It is really good, and extremely smooth. The soda really brings out the great flavor. When comparing it to Zaya 12 year, this has a much spicier bolder flavor than Zaya. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a different flavor in their rum and coke.
Adrian: Before trying this rum, I was a little concerned about the lack of an age of the rum. I am always a little leery of that. After trying it straight on the rocks…wow…it has a strong bite with a heavy flavor behind it. Behind that initial bite, you can really taste the richness of the rum. I don’t really like this rum straight, but it would be a great topper for a boat drink. I have a completely different take on it after sampling it mixed with Coke, it’s way smooth. You can really taste the sweetness. Compared with Zaya 12 year this has much more of a kick and it isn’t as fruity.

I like this rum a lot. Rich flavor, not too sweet, smooth but with spiciness.

Wow you guys are BABIES – there is little or no afterburn – but has a mixed combination of flavors to hard to describe . I would rate it 5 bottles – because Diplomatico has better the Blanco is cheaper and better and Diplomatico 2000 is one of the BEST RUMS I have ever tasted – hope to get a bottle of their Ambassador soon ($250 a Bottle) guess I will enjoy it with a very special friend.
