Andy: Pussers has an aroma and flavor similar to that of Mount Gay Eclipse. I don’t think it is as rich a flavor as Mt. Gay or Appleton, but it does have a nice distinct rum flavor. It has a nice bite but it isn’t really harsh, actually it tastes slightly peppery. I would definitely drink it again. Don’t be a pusser! Drink Pussers rum! | |||||||||||||||
Adrian: At 84 proof it is slightly overproof. It has a strong bite and it is a little woodsy. It is a little harsh to drink straight, but it isn’t really burning my throat. I even get a little hint of blackeberry and vanilla. For $20 there are rums I would prefer, but this is still a good choice. |

I didn’t like this one. It was like nothing else I’ve tasted. I couldn’t finish one drink, let alone the rest of the bottle. Cheers.

I love this rum! For me it has smooth rich flavor. More than any other rims I have tasted. I drink it straight – no ice.

Considering that this was a rum served to sailors in the British Navy well into the 1980s and made to be consumed straight as a “tot” to keep up morale this has a bit of history to it. It’s also not bad considering its origins. They do make several versions of Pusser’s but for an every day rum, it does a nice job.
