Andy: This is an excellent rum. It’s nice and smooth with no distinguishable or overpowering flavor. It is dark and rich…I actually like it a lot. This would be a great in a dirty mojito. |

Adrian: The Flor De Cana 7 year is definitely richer in color than their gold rum. Almost similar in color to Appleton Extra. This rum is smooth and gentle on the tongue. It’s like it is dancing in my mouth! This is clearly well mixed with no one overpowering flavor. It’s good enough that it doesn’t need to be overpowered with a lot of fruit juices. |

Thanks for all the reviews, very helpful. Just bought the Flor de Cana 12 years, which is supposed to be even better than the 7 year. I wonder how you guys would rate the El Dorado 15 and 21 and the Flor de Cana 18 and 21. Some people just don’t drink enough…;)

Flor De Cana 5 year old is quite acceptable, here in Ontario Canada they stopped selling the 7 year old and only keep the 5 year old in stock. From time to time they offer 12 and 18 and 21 year old versions. The 12 is very smooth and should be consumed over the rocks and a few drops of fresh lime, the 18 year old is best served slightly chilled and neat. I may eventually find a 21 year bottle to taste. Everyone of our guests who has tried Flor De Cana truly is impressed with the smoothness and the great mixability of this rum.
